The Subaru Impreza WRX car received a complete front-end re-design, boldly styled headlights with smoke-tinted lenses, a three-section mesh-type grill, and distinguished new tail lamp clusters. Three trims levels are available: WRX TR (Tuner Ready), WRX, and Limited. The car’s curb weight is 3,140 lb (1,424 kg) for the WRX TR, 3,192 lb (1,448 kg) for the WRX, and 3240 for the WRX Limited. The biggest change was the 2.5-liter turbocharged intercooled EJ255 engine, producing 230 hp (172 kW) at 5600 rpm. It replaced the 2.0-liter EJ205 engine used since the WRX model's introduction. The larger-displacement engine produces 235 lb·ft (319 N·m) of peak torque at 3,600 rpm, compared to 217 lb·ft (294 N·m). at 4,000 rpm for the previous WRX. Performance was improved in all speed ranges, with greater emphasis on low-end and mid-range torque. The 2.5-liter WRX engine shares architecture and technology with the WRX STI engine, including Subaru Active Valve Control System (AVCS) variable valve timing technology and an Electronic Throttle Control system. The turbocharger remains the same unit as on the 2002-2005MY US-spec WRXs, but now only peaks at 11.6 psi of boost. The first gear in the transmission received dual-ring synchros to improve downshifts from 2nd to 1st.

For the 2009 model year the WRX will receive a boost of 41 horsepower (31 kW) and 18 ft·lbf (24 N·m) of torque to bring the total output to 265 bhp (198 kW) and 244 ft·lbf (331 N·m) of torque. In addition, the 2009 model will receive stiffer suspension parts from the STi model, an aerodynamic package and summer performance tires will become standard, and the 5-door hatchback version will feature the rear spoiler and underbody diffuser from the STi. The WRX will be also only available with 5-speed manual transmission. The 4-speed semi-automatic racing sports gear shift; manual/automatic will be available on a new Impreza model called the 2.5 GT, which feature the same 2.5L 4-cylinder 224Bhp (246 Bhp) Subaru Boxer Turbo engine as in the 2008 WRX.[5]

The Audi A5 car is the coupé variant of the fourth generation A4 (B8) sedan and estate that was launched at the 2007 Frankfurt Auto Show. The A5 marks Audi's return to the mid-size coupé market since the (B3/B4) Audi 80-based Coupe model ended production in 1996. The Mk 2 (B6/B7) A4 spawned a convertible variant but not a coupé; due to the introduction of the A5, the A4 Cabriolet was not retained for the B8 generation. The A5 is the third coupe in Audi's line-up, next to the second-generation TT and the R8. The A5 has adopted many design elements of the Nuvolari quattro concept. The A5 debuted with the 3.2-liter FSI V6 engine delivering 265 PS (261 hp/195 kW). In 2009, Audi announced the S Tronic transmission option for A5 with 2.0L TFSI quattro in UK market.

The Audi A5 Cabriolet (convertible) is scheduled for production in early 2009. Audi has released the official details of the model on December 3 2008. It is confirmed that the A5 Cabriolet will have a fabric roof as opposed to a retractable hardtop as on the Volkswagen Eos. The Audi A5 keeps the same engines as the coupé, including the 2.0-turbo engine producing 211 PS (155 kW; 208 hp) and the 265 PS (195 kW; 261 hp) 3.2 L V6, with a 2.7 L TDI option. The Audi S5 Cabriolet feature the new 3.0 L Supercharged V6 producing 333 PS (245 kW; 328 hp).

Nissan Altima Coupe Photos Car

Nissan altima coupe photos, images and pictures. As an early 2008 model, a new Altima coupe is joining the existing Altima four-door sedan. Now in its fourth generation, "Altima is the power brand for Nissan," said regional product manager John Curl. A coupe is expected to "add incremental sales to the Altima brand," attracting "young customers especially." Other coupes on the market, Curl believes, are "not very good, or not very interesting." Nissan's main target is the Honda Accord coupe.

Nissan "started with a clean sheet of paper" for the coupe, Curl said. It's not merely a two-door sedan. The only body panel shared with the sedan is the hood. "Everything else is completely unique to the coupe."
Wheelbase is about 4 inches shorter than the sedan's, and the roofline has been lowered by about 2 inches. Tiny rear quarter windows are installed, and the doors are considerably wider than those of a sedan. Overall, the coupe is 7.3 inches shorter than an Altima sedan, but widths are identical so the coupe gets a "wide, muscular stance" as well as interior roominess.

Powertrains match those of the Altima sedan. Placed on sale May 25, the Altima coupe has a choice of two engines: a 175-horsepower four-cylinder and a 270-horsepower, 3.5-liter V-6. Either a six-speed manual transmission or Nissan's Xtronic continuously variable transmission (CVT) may be installed. Operation of the CVT is utterly refined, as demonstrated in a four-cylinder Altima coupe. This could be the best CVT yet. It's even snappy on takeoff, and as smooth as can be. There's no shortage of energy for merging or passing, either. Because the CVT is so masterful there's little tempation to use the manual-shift mode, which can run through a sequence of virtual "gears."

This coupe is quiet, too, even while accelerating. Altimas emit virtually no buzziness or sense of high engine revs - as in many CTV applications - waiting for the car to catch up. Ride comfort also appeals. You can feel pavement separators, but they don't affect occupants much at all because the suspension fends them off so well. Steering feel is beautifully balanced: easy to turn and positive to control.

Snugly-bolstered front bucket seats seem appropriate for the sporty coupe. Illuminated gauges have big numbers, and are among the easiest to read. Nothing is perfect, and the Altima sags at times in terms of sounds. Considerable tire noise (actually a buzz) occurs on certain surfaces; but on others, there's none to speak of. In some areas, a notable whine appears. Rear quarter windows don't help much with visibility, which isn't the best either rearward or over-the-shoulder.

Jaguar XK8 is a grand tourer produced by British carmaker Jaguar since 1996. The car was introduced in Geneva Motor Show on March 5th 1996. It is the replacement of the XJS, and is available as a coupé and convertible. Currently in its second generation, the XK8 was the first 8 cylinder vehicle produced by Jaguar, when the Jaguar AJ-V8 engine was introduced.

Styling of the new XK8 luxury coupe and convertible was clearly inspired by Jaguar's famous old XK-E (E-Type) sports car of the 1960s. Unveiled for 1997, the rear-drive sport Jaguars replaced the XJS design that had been around for 21 years. In fact, the new models also bore some kinship to the XJS, using part of its rear-drive platform and the same basic suspension, and riding a nearly identical wheelbase. Jaguar claimed a 25 percent increase in body stiffness over the XJS. Jaguar's first V8 engine went under the hood, a 4.0-liter aluminum unit with twin overhead camshafts and four valves per cylinder. Also new was the 5-speed automatic transmission, from the German ZF company. In its novel console-mounted "J-gate," a 2-plane shift quadrant permitted manual gear selection when the lever was moved to the left-side slot. Dual front airbags and antilock 4-wheel disc brakes were standard, along with speed-sensitive power steering. The 17-inch wheels held Z-rated tires. The convertible has a fully lined power soft top with glass window and electric defroster. Both models had Automatic Stability Control, which throttled back engine power to maintain traction during low-grip conditions. Full traction control, which also applied brakes as needed, was part of an optional All-Weather Package that included heated seats and headlamp washers. The only other options were a trunk-mounted 6-disc CD player, premium 240-watt Harman-Kardon audio system, custom paint, and chrome wheels. Rivals included the Cadillac Eldorado, Mercedes-Benz SL-Class, and Lexus SC 300/400.

Modified by Mazda Australia Motorsport Manager, Allan Horsley, this extreme makeover involves a recalculation to the car’s Powertrain Control Module (PCM), allowing its standard 2.3-litre DISI turbo engine to generate a massive 210kW of power at 5300rpm and 425Nm of torque at 4400rpm.

Other modifications to the Mazda3 MPS include a free-flowing two-inch exhaust system and a sports muffler that will give this extreme car a suitability throaty exhaust note.
Inside the Mazda3 MPS Extreme’s Sports Pack brings black leather trim is accentuated by exclusive red leather trimming. The red theme continues with red highlights in the dash, gear-shift knob and steering wheel and doors trimmings.

The car’s stopping power is generated through the state-of-art braking system found on the standard Mazda3 MPS. Its front disc brakes are 320mm in diameter and are ventilated, while the rear brakes are 280mm in diameter. An 8-9 inch tandem booster, along with a larger master cylinder, four-channel ABS, electronic brake distribution (EBD), electronic brake assist all contribute to the Mazda3 MPS Extreme’s effective braking performance.

Bentley Hanaudieres pictures, images, photos and wallpaper. The Bentley Hunaudieres prototype was launched at the 1999 Geneva motorshow. The Hunaudieres, which was based on a modified Lamborghini Diablo VT chassis was powered by a W16 Volkswagen engine making 620 bhp driving all four wheels. The Hunaudieres concept was intended to test the water to see how close to an all out sports car Bentley could feasibly create, without compromising the brand's identity. The Hunaudieres was Bentley's first go at a modern sports car. The awkward 'Hunaudieres' name pays homage to the famous straight on the Le Mans Circuit. It was here that the legend of Bentley was born with five wins at the track in the 1920's. Sir Tim Birkin in his 4.5 litre 'Blower' Bentley, undertook a risky overtaking of Rudolf Carraciola's Mercedes SSK at 125mph with one wheel on the grass down the Hunaudières straight.

The Maybach Exelero is a high-performance sports car designed and built by German luxury car manufacturer Maybach, and presented in May 2005 in Berlin, Germany. The 700 hp (SAE) (514 kW) two-seater with a bi-turbo V12 engine is a one-off design commissioned by Fulda Tyres. Fulda is using this car as a reference vehicle to test a new generation of wide tires. The German luxury car manufacturer created the one-off model as a modern interpretation of its legendary streamlined sportscar from the 1930s. There are various allusions to the historical predecessor, which was likewise based on a powerful Maybach automobile, in this case the Maybach SW 38, and was also used by Fulda for tire testing.

Lamborghini Estoque concept car is a four-door sedan that was introduced at the 2008 Paris Motor Show. The Estoque is the first front-engine vehicle by Lamborghini since the LM002 utility vehicle. Despite being classed as a concept car, the Estoque is being seriously considered for production. It currently houses a 5.2 litre V10 engine, although there has been speculation that this could be replaced by a V12, V8, or possibly even a hybrid or turbo-diesel engine (as suggested by Lamborghini's Brand Director, Manfred Fitzgerald). As with other Lamborghinis, the Estoque derives its name from bullfighting. An estoque is a type of sword traditionally used by matadors.
